For those who are interested in community theatre, there are many ways to become involved with the Roleystone Theatre Group:

Volunteers needed -

Front of House Helpers required

Your community theatre group needs at least two volunteers per show for our upcoming seasons to help with: bar, kiosk and ushering.

In addition, some light cleaning will need to be carried out (gloves etc. provided).

Please make contact if you can help in future seasons by filling in this form: click here to sign up

Thanks in advance,

Malita Ronchi (Front of House Manager)

Membership

The easiest way to keep up to date with the Roleystone Theatre activities is to become a member.

Membership entitles you to:
    1. Half-price tickets on opening night for every show
    2. The newsletter "The Callboy" and other emails containing all the latest theatre news
    3. Opportunity to be involved in productions and social activities.
We also have the new option of free social membership.
This gives you all the benefits of being a member, however it means that you do not have voting rights at Annual General Meetings (you can upgrade your membership to full financial membership at any time).

Download membership form here
Please direct membership enquiries to membership@roleystonetheatre.com.au

For members who would like a copy of our Roleystone Theatre Constitution: Constitution - you can download it here.

Important for our membership to note:
As a not for profit community theatre group we are only as strong as our membership - so being an active member is how we maintain our connections.
You can be an active member by attending general meetings, coming to see performances, participating in productions on stage or behind the scenes, and sharing our news and productions with your community.

Audience

Of course we love people to come and watch our shows!  You can keep up to date with current and future shows through "The Callboy" (for members), by following our Facebook page or checking in with this website. Ticketing information can also be found in these publications.

You can also join our theatre news (non-members) mailing list - click here to join: General mailing list - click here

On Stage

Are you a seasoned performer, looking for the limelight? Or perhaps you have never been on stage, but would like to give it a go?

We offer a variety of roles to get you on stage, no matter what your experience.  We encourage you to audition for a show that interests you, whether it be a musical, a play or a variety show.

We always welcome fresh talent on stage, and we love to invite new members to our social activities too.

Browse through our coming attractions and look out for upcoming auditions!

Back Stage - Behind the scenes

It's hard to count the ways you can be involved back stage in a production, there are just so many!  But here's a few to get started:
  1. director
  2. musical director
  3. choreographer
  4. production manager
  5. prompt
  6. musician
  7. set builder, set painter
  8. props
  9. stage crew (moving sets and props)
  10. wardrobe
  11. make up
  12. lighting and sound

And of course, for performances we also need:
  1. front of house staff  (tickets or kiosk)
  2. bar staff  (RSA training required)

Nominating for Committee

Please note - ALL committee roles become vacant at the AGM every year and we need a vibrant and committed group to keep our community group working smoothly. So, if you are interested in joining the committee please complete the nomination form (you need to be supported by a current financial member) and return it by the due date noted on the form (February each year).

We welcome members to be involved in various management portfolios, even if they are not on the Roleystone Theatre Inc. committee of management. If any of the portfolios tickle your fancy, or you think you have the skills to really make it work, please contact us.

There are sub-committees and other roles that we encourage members to take part in without being on committee. These roles are just as important as being on the committee itself, and help the group to flourish.

If you have any questions please don't hesitate to make contact with a committee member, or by emailing secretary@roleystonetheatre.com.au.
